Colonel Larry M. Jenkins

    A resident of Missouri, Colonel Jenkins graduated from Missouri State University and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1994.  Upon completion of The Basic School, he was designated an Air Intelligence Officer (0207).  

    As a company grade officer, Colonel Jenkins served as an Air Command Element (ACE) Intelligence Officer for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, as an Intelligence Officer for Marine Aircraft Group 16, as a Targeting Officer with the Joint Intelligence Center at U.S. Central Command, and as Production and Analysis Company Commander with 3d Intelligence Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). 

    As a field grade officer, Colonel Jenkins served as both a Battalion Operations and Executive Officer, and commanded a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) company with the Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion. He also served an additional joint tour with U.S. Central Command as an Intelligence Operations Officer, where he worked intelligence force management and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) architecture and integration.

    Colonel Jenkins returned to the Fleet Marine Force in 2012, where he served as the I MEF G2 Operations Officer, the I Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) G2, and the MEF G2.  He joined MEB-Afghanistan as the C2/G2 in August of 2013, and redeployed from Afghanistan in June of 2014 to take command of 1st Radio Battalion.  Colonel Jenkins commanded 1st Radio Battalion until 2016 when he was ordered to attend Top Level School at the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. 

    Colonel Jenkins has served multiple combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and is a graduate of the Marine Command and Control Systems Course (Honor Graduate), the Marine Corps Command and Staff Non-Resident Program, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Eisenhower School (Distinguished Graduate).  Colonel Jenkins holds a B.S. in Sociology from Missouri State University, an M.S. in Education from Kansas State University, and an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University. 

    Colonel Jenkins is married to Melissa and they have two boys; Tyler (18) and Brandon (14).
