Colonel Darin J. Clarke

Colonel Darin J. Clarke was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from Liberty University in December 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts. He joined the United States Marine Corps on 27 February 1985. Upon graduating from MCRD San Diego, he went into the Marine Corps Reserves. He attended the Basic Combat Engineer Course in 1986. He was activated in 1990 and deployed with 8th Engineer Support Battalion to Operation Desert Shield/Storm. In 1993, he went to Officers Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December 1993. He is a Logistics Officer by trade and completed The Basic School and the Basic Logistics Officers Course in 1994.

Colonel Clarke’s assignments include 2nd Battalion 10th Marines, where he served as the Maintenance Management Officer, Embarkation Officer, and the Environmental Compliance Officer (1995-1997); 10th Marines, where he served as the Maintenance Management Officer and Embarkation Officer (1997-1998); Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 where he served as the Logistics Officer and the Operations Officer (2002-2005); Marine Service Support Group-22, where he served as the Operations Officer (2004-2005); II Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd), where he served as the Customer Support OIC (2008-2009); 2nd Marine Logistics Group, where he served as the 2d MLG G4 (2009); and Combat Logistics Regiment-2, where he served as the Executive Officer and then as the Commanding Officer (2009-2011); Marine Wing Support Squadron 172 where he served as the Commanding Officer (2011-2013); Joint Staff J-4 Global Prepositioned Materiel Chief (2014-2016); Joint Staff J-4 Joint Logistics Operations Center (2016-2017); Assistant Chief of Staff, G-7, Marine Corps Installations Pacific (2017- 2019); Deputy Commander, Marine Corps Installations Pacific (2019 – present).

His Supporting Establishment assignments include The Basic School, where he served as the ADF- BOQ Officer, Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander, S-4, and Safety Officer (1998-2001); Manpower Management Enlisted Assignments-83 (2006-2007); and the Deputy Military Assistant to the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps (2007-2008).

Along with his degree from Liberty University, Colonel Clarke received a Masters of National Resource Strategy with a concentration in Supply Chain Management at the Eisenhower School, NDU (2013-2014) and a Masters of Military Studies from Command and Staff College, MCU (2005-2006). He graduated from Command and Control Systems Course (2001-2002). Additional military education includes Tactical Logistics Officers Course, Advanced Logistics Officer Course, Weapons and Tactics Instructors Course, Marine Corps Logistics Education Program, Advanced Logistics and Technology Course, Joint Course on Logistics, Naval Security Managers Course, Commandant’s Commander Program, and the Senior Officers Legal Course.

His decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with two Gold Stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars, and two Combat Action Ribbons.
