Colonel Omar J. Randall

Colonel Omar J. Randall is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and was commissioned in May 1996. After completing The Basic School and the Logistics Officer’s Course he was assigned to 1st Landing Support Battalion, where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer, Assistant Logistics Officer and a Landing Support Platoon Commander.  In June of 1999, he was assigned to serve as a Detachment Commander, Transportation Support Detachment, MEU Service Support Group-13 for WESTPAC-00.  At the conclusion of his deployment with 13th MEU in March 2001, Captain Randall was assigned to the Inspector-Instructor Staff, 4th Air Delivery Platoon and Beach and Terminal Operations Company “A”, San Jose CA where he served as both the Air Delivery Inspector-Instructor and the Company Inspector-Instructor. During that tour he mobilized with the company in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.  At the conclusion of this tour, Captain Randall was selected to serve as a student at The Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA.

Captain Randall graduated Expeditionary Warfare School in May 2005 and was assigned to serve as the Battalion Logistics Officer, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines at Camp Lejeune, NC.  During this tour, he deployed as the Battalion Landing Team Logistics Officer, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 05-07. Upon conclusion of the deployment, Captain Randall was promoted to the rank of Major and assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 2d Marine Division where he deployed a third time in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 06-08 as the Battalion Logistics Officer and Headquarters Company Commander. At the conclusion of this tour, Major Randall was selected to serve as a student at The Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA.

Major Randall graduated Command and Staff College in June 2009 and was assigned to serve as a Joint Logistics Planner, Logistics Plans Division, Directorate for Logistics and Engineering, Headquarters United States Central Command (USCENTCOM). While assigned to USCENTCOM, he was selected to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and assigned to serve as the Commanding Officer of Combat Logistics Battalion-31, Okinawa, Japan. Lieutenant Colonel Randall assumed command of Combat Logistics Battalion-31 in June 2012 and during that time he participated in several deployments to include OPERATION DAMAYAN, supporting humanitarian relief efforts in the Republic of the Philippines.

Lieutenant Colonel Randall relinquished command in June 2014 and was selected to serve as a CMC TLS Fellow at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), where he was assigned as a Country Desk Officer (CDO) for Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal. During his tour as the CDO, Lieutenant Colonel Randall served on the team responsible for the interagency relief coordination after a massive earthquake struck Nepal in April 2015.  At the conclusion of his TLS fellowship, LtCol Randall was assigned to HQMC, Installations and Logistics in June 2015, where he served as the section head for the Logistics Plans and Operations Section (LPO-1) until June 2017. 

Lieutenant Colonel Randall returned to Okinawa, Japan in June 2017 to serve as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics (AC/S G-4), 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade.  During this tour he participated in several exercises across the Indo-Pacific region. After selection to the rank of Colonel, he was reassigned in June 2018 to serve as the AC/S G-4, 3d Marine Division. In July 2018, he was selected to serve as the Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment-37.   Colonel Randall was promoted to his current grade in January 2019.
