Camp Director, Camps Foster and Lester
Robert T. Marsh Jr.

Mr. Robert Marsh was born and raised in New York City. He enlisted in the Unites States Army Reserve in 1981, and in 1983 joined into the Regular Army.  Active Army assignments included duty with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He subsequently enlisted into the 2nd Battalion 104th Infantry Regiment of the Massachusetts Army National Guard and was selected for the Active Guard/Reserve Program.  He served in every Infantry leadership position from Fire Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major. He served as the First Sergeant of A Co 1st Battalion 104th Infantry Regiment (Light) for a Stabilization Force/Peacekeeping deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina, as the Senior Enlisted Leader for a Joint Operational Analysis Team working with MiTTs teams in Iraq, and as the Command Sergeant Major for the 1st Battalion 182nd Infantry Regiment. He was also assigned as the Command Sergeant Major for the 1st Squadron 182nd Cavalry Regiment (Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Target Acquisition). He served as an Instructor and Course Manager for numerous training programs, including Non Commissioned Officers Education System courses, the Infantry Light Leader Course, and the Expert Infantry Badge Testing Committee.  Additionally, he served as a Recruiter, as well as the Recruiting & Retention Sergeant Major for the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

During his career he had the opportunity to travel overseas for both training and operational deployments to Panama, Korea, Canada, Germany, Paraguay, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He retired from the Army in 2013 with 28 years of Active Federal Service, and 32 years of total service.

He began a career in government service in May 2014 working for the United States Marine Corps as the Camp Director of Camps Foster and Lester, Marine Corps Base S.D. Butler, Okinawa Japan.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Masters of Management & Leadership, both from Liberty University.
