Headquarters and Support Battalion Family Readiness Officer

My name is Rachael Pennington, and I am a mother of three boys, wife of a Green Beret and a firm believer in family readiness.  I am very excited to be your new Family Readiness Officer (your FRO)! I am looking forward to working with our entire Headquarters and Support Battalion family here on the island. As a military spouse and a mother of three boys family is very important to me. By family, I mean married Marines and Sailors, their families, and our single Marines and sailors. Since we are all on this island together, I firmly believe our role is to take care of each other and our families. Living overseas can sometimes be overwhelming and can leave a person feeling isolated. As your FRO, I want to prevent that as much as possible. I really believe the more people know about the beauty and adventure this island has to offer, the more enjoyable their experience will be, both personally and professionally.

 I am very excited about this upcoming year! We have many events and workshops in the making for our Families, Single Marines and Sailors, and Geo-Spouses.  Young and old, married or single, we want to continue to provide a fun and a very family friendly atmosphere to improve the quality of life for our Marines and Sailors.

I promise to do my best as your Family Readiness Officer (FRO), and I am extremely honored to join the H & S BN Family! If you all need anything or have any questions do not hesitate to contact me! If I don't know the answer right away, I promise we will figure it out!
