Colonel Kimberly Sile is a native of North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. She was commissioned in 2003 and completed the Basic School and Military Police Officer Basic Course in 2004.
Colonel Sile’s operational assignments include: Executive Officer and Company Commander, Security Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (2006-2007); Anti-terrorism Force Protection Officer, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) for two Western Pacific deployments aboard the USS Tarawa and USS Bonhomme-Richard (2007-2010); Law Enforcement Integration Officer and G-3 Assistant Current Operations Officer, 2d Marine Division (2016-2018).
Her supporting establishment assignments include: Services Officer and Operations Officer, Provost Marshal’s Office, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA (2004-2006); Marine Officer Instructor at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (2010-2013) and Platoon Commander at Officer Candidate’s School (summer 2011); INDOPACOM Plans Officer, Strategy and Plans Division, Plans, Policies and Operations, Headquarters Marine Corps (2018-2020); and Commanding Officer, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (2023-2025).
Her joint assignments include: Chief, Force Protection Branch, J-34, United States Strategic Command and Aide-de-Camp to the Commander, United States Strategic Command (2014-2016); Chief of Staff, Military Advisor Group deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation INHERENT RESOLVE (2020); Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense (2021-2023).
Colonel Sile is a graduate of Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (2011), Marine Corps Command and Staff College (2014), and Marine Corps War College (2026).
