Summary: Grand Opening event at CATC Camp Fuji premieres the Warrior Athlete Readiness Resilience (WARR) center. ntro: Drawing inspiration from professional athlete models and Division I, Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) centers are popping-up on Marine Corps installations worldwide and staff at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji recently celebrated the grand opening of their very own WARR center. Announcer: “Welcome to today’s ceremony, commemorating the official grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Camp Fuji WARR center… Everyone ready? So one, two, three… The WARR program was developed to provide Marines with a training environment that mirrors the demands of combat. It also allows for modern strength and conditioning modalities modeled after professional and Division I athletic performance facilities. Derrick Martin, former N-F-L defensive back: “So I feel like the best way to be able to give back to the military and show them how I support [them] is by coming through, doing things like this, showing them how to workout and kind of boost morale.” Outro: Derrick Martin teamed up with another former N-F-L player, Emmanuel “Manny” Arceneaux and led several Marines exercises to help break-in the WARR new gear.

U.S. Marines and Sailors with Combat Logistics Company 36, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd Marine Logistics Group; Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 12, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing; and Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (HHS), Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, conduct exercise Northern Dragon 26 at Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Camp Nihonbara, Okayama, Japan, from March 13 to March 19, 2026. CLC-36 holds exercise Northern Dragon yearly to enhance and maintain the unit’s combat logistics capabilities, combat marksmanship proficiency, and medical preparedness in austere terrain and weather conditions. Firefighters, assigned to Marine Corps Installations Pacific Fire and Emergency Services, conduct a HAZMAT joint training exercise with the U.S. Army Garrison Okinawa F&ES and Naha Fire Department at Naha Port, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 26, 2026. Nearly two-dozen Marines assigned to Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji volunteered to help with the set-up at this year’s Yamanako (yah-mah-nah-KO) Ice Candle festival on February 22nd. The marines and other volunteers unwrapped hundreds of the ice candles used for the festival. Colonel Scott Welborn and Sergeant Major Christopher Gasser, the Camp Fuji commanding officer and sergeant major also participated in the event. A part of the maneuver training land used by the U.S. and Japanese militaries is in Yamanashi Prefecture, where Yamanako town is located.
