This information is also posted on our facebook page www.facebook.com/CampFoster

The following are recommendations to prepare yourself for the day and other important information you may need to know:

Recommend having cash on hand if you want to go to the few establishments that will be open.

Fill up your vehicle with fuel prior.

Fill up your propane tank if you plan on grilling!

Charge your cell phones and batteries.

Remember automatic garage door openers won’t work while the electricity is out.

Don't forget to take your house key with you if you leave!

If you have any medical concerns because of this upcoming outage, please contact your doctor for guidance on whether or not you should plan to go to a medical treatment facility or somewhere else with air conditioning (e.g. Windward Mall, etc.) for the duration of this outage.

Prior to the power outage, disconnect power source from computers, printers (standalone and network), copiers, multi-function devices, fax machines and other peripherals such as external hard drives and DVD/CD drives.

Prior to the power outage, properly disconnect sensitive appliances, such as, televisions, microwaves, advanced-technology washers and dryers, electronic game consoles, fans, lamps, etc., to avoid potential power-surge damage when electricity is restored.

Do not attempt to place personal generators on the base grid!

Call 9-11 for all emergencies; call 645-7441 for nonemergency police matters.

Do not attempt to pull a fire alarm in a building; the signal will not reach the fire department.

Housing is the SAF Commander for Camp Foster. MCIPAC-MCBB will establish, train, manage and employ a Guard Force and SAF to provide security and protection of personnel and critical infrastructure to mitigate hazards, threats, incidents or responses beyond organic Provost Marshal’s Office (PMO) capabilities.

When hazards, threats or incidents require security personnel above the host-command's PMO/MCPD baseline capabilities, installation commanders may use the SAF to offset shortages. The SAF is primarily used to augment PMO/MCPD during heightened Force Protection Conditions (FPCON). However, this force may be tasked to conduct other security related operations as directed by the installation commander or his/her appointed security representative.”

The Voting Assistance Team at MCB-Butler is here to help overseas citizen voters by providing the information and resources so you can successfully vote absentee.

The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) is designed to assist absentee voting as most states require you to register to vote to start the absentee voting process. We encourage you to use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). To register and vote in your home state, visit www.fvap.gov or contact one of the below Voting Assistance Officers who are ready to assist with regards to voter registration and absentee voting.   Marines and families can use www.fvap.gov to complete the forms necessary to register to vote, and to update their local election official of address changes for the delivery of voting materials free of charge.  Keep in mind that mail delivery times will vary based on where you are and customs requirements whereas using electronic options can help reduce the ballot transit time for your election materials.
