U.S. service members and their families participate in the Camp Foster Commissary Shopping Spree on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 13, 2023. Camp Foster Commissary partnered with Okinawa Military Auto Source to selected 4 individuals to participate in a shopping spree of which the first place winner had 2 minutes to spend $300 and the second place winner had 1 minute and 30 second to spend $200 at the Commissary. CATC Camp Fuji Hosts Garrison Games
Intro: Staff at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan hosted the first Garrison Games at their installation. It's a friendly competition to test Marines’ military stamina and skills against Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force soldiers from neighboring garrisons. Outro: Camp Fuji Marines took home the traveling trophy this year. Next year another base will host the Garrison Games and teams will attempt to win the trophy away from the Marines. Creators envisioned that the games will continue for the foreseeable future.

U.S. Marines and Japanese citizens gather to pay respects during a Battle of Okinawa Memorial Day ceremony on Hamahiga Island, Okinawa, Japan, June 23, 2025. The first memorial is dedicated to the island residents who lost their lives during the Battle, while the second memorial recognizes U.S. Marine Corps Col. Kermit Shelly, the commanding officer of 3rd Force Service Regiment from March 1967 until his death in June 1968. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Okinawa.
